HBA8103 commented on TBS Discovery Gimbal Mount by HBA8103
November 24, 2015
HBA8103 @gpdude Sorry it didn't work out for you. I wish I had control over the rubber dampers....the durometer that is. Not sure why you were not able to benefit from the damping of the mount. If you have some pics, perhaps you could send (PM) and I could help determine what the problem might have been.
HBA8103 @dimvasilk I replied directly on your youtube video. I assume you have balanced your props and motor housings. The vibration I saw was caused by flying in your own prop wash; either low to the ground or descending straight down. This is normal and extreme. If you descend with a little forward motion, you won't have that reaction. When the craft was higher or in level flight or even rotation, I did not witness any vibration / jello in the footage.
HBA8103 @dimvasilk Yes. That should work, assuming the hose is flexible and can expand. The OD is 6.35mm. The ID is 3.175mm. Assuming it can accommodate the 6mm aluminum spacer that would provide 9.175mm, which is enough to provide some interference between the hose and the rubber damper.
HBA8103 @mtao16 The 8mm size and the link in the product description for GoodluckBuy are the proper damper. They should say happy model on them when you receive them. Your suggestion as to how to handle the additional required components is excellent. I will look into that. Additionally, I read the comments below on what originally transpired and I understand how that can be confusing. I will remove that comment. Thanks so much for your comments and feedback. Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.
HBA8103 @yam6rider Sorry for the slow reply. Was unable to see comments for a while for some strange reason. Please IM photos / links to videos of how you have everything mounted so I can assist you. I am assuming you have balanced props and motors. You mention tight fit with rubber damper....the mount is designed so that the dampers are in slight compression to insure isolation. If you are having difficulty fitting the mount, your dampers could be the wrong dimension. Please refer to the diagram with the correct dimensions and compare to insure you have the proper damper.
HBA8103 @yam6rider If you've followed what I've provided and have done no strange modifications to the mount or your TBS, you would be the first to report a lack of damping from the mount. Can you be more specific on how you've used the product...other than to say it doesn't work?
HBA8103 @yam6rider Thanks for the comment. I will update the main picture to be just the mount. I have the other images so people know how the finished assembly will appear. I strongly disagree with your comment of false advertising. The text clearly states that additional components are required. There are links to discussion post on the design as well as links to the additional components.
