Product Description
This component is designed to hold a 24mm diameter CD type motor into a Lima 94XX or J50 Chassis, allowing the easy alignment of gears. It also allows easy removal of the replacement motor as no glue is used to fix the motor into the model.

These motors are available as re-motoring kits for LIMA locomotives from various suppliers on the internet and are not included with this print.

Instructions.

1. Line up the motor so that it can be pushed into the motor mounting ring  ensuring that the wires are in line with the notch in the back of the ring and that when pushed home the pinion on the motor sticks out of the front of the ring (the side without the fixing lugs and notch).

2. Push motor firmly into the ring  until the  front face of the motor (with the gear) is flush with the front of the mounting ring (the side without the fixing lugs) This should be a tight fit.

3. Dismantle the motor as per the motorising kit's instructions but retain the two small screws which secure the the Lima Motors backplate.

4. The motor/ring assembly from 2 simply drops into the original motor housing with the wires comming out of the top of the housing (roughly at 10 o'clock) and is secured usingthe two original motor backplate screws.

5. Rotate the large gear at the back of the assembly to ensure all turns freely. You may also wish to test with a suitable power supply at this stage.

6. Re-fit the motor assembly into the chassis and connect the wires in accordance with the re-motoring kit manufacturer's instructions.

Note:As the CD motor supplier's instructions warns against subjecting the motor to any heavy use, I have not subjected this component to any endurance testing. However, as there are no moving parts, it seems adequate for general use on my own model railway without any issues (trains tend to run for a couple of minutes before stopping or being changed)
