Set of three replacement 1:32 scale oil pump bodies for Daimler-Mercedes D.III 160 PS WWI German aeroplane engine, such as those offered by Roden and Wingnut Wings. This oil pump may also be similar to ones sometimes fitted on the later D.IIIa engine -- check your references!
This is intended for experienced modelers only. Requires removal of the kit oil pump. The pump is on the bottom of the crankcase pan, part E10 (WNW). See photos of the actual pump in place on the engine in the museum in Bavaria.
Please note: This model is printed in Frosted Ultra Detail acrylic plastic, which will arrive with a barely noticeable greasy coating that should be removed before you attempt to paint it.
To prepare parts for painting, soak them for them for a few hours in lukewarm dish soap and water. Dawn(tm) works well. Gently scrub the parts with a toothbrush and rinse with water. Once the coating is removed and the part is dry, areas that were in contact with the support wax during the build process will appear white and slightly rough.
