Product Description
I designed this guard to protect the spur and pinion gears on the Associated TC4 Club Racer from rocks and debris. It will accommodate just about any gearing combination that you can imagine; (example gearing is in 48p) from 66t spur and 15t pinion to 75t spur and 47t pinion. Installation is easy, simply remove the two screws on the front of the rear differential housing, put the guard in place, and install with two 4-40x1/2" SHCS screws. It weighs approximately 0.17 oz, or 4.8g.
I mainly drive my car on the street, so I was constantly getting little pebbles and sticks stuck in the gears, but with this I've had no problems. I did a torture test and drove through, and did donuts in, an area with a lot of little rocks. I had to get rocks out of the steering rack several times, but I did not have a single issue with anything in the gears.
