Product Description
009 Freelance Sentinel Kit Designed to fit the KATO 11-103 Chassis.
This is the first set of components for a simple eight part kit which has been split into four files to enable components to be printed in self coloured strong flexible plastic so that painting is not strictly necessary. Although the model would be greatly enhanced if painted and/or weathered.
This print contains the following:
Cab floor/boiler (part 1);
Under frame detail (part 5);
Water tank & filler (part 6);
Chimney (part 8).
To complete the body you will need to purchase the remaining three prints from Shapeways:
Parts 2 & 3 (Cab Details);
Part 4 (Main Body), the original Part 4 has two windows on each side either side of the door. However, alternatives are available with detail differences (see Part 4A, Part 4B etc.
Part 7 (Roof).
You will also need to purchase a KATO 11-103 Chassis from another supplier.
Please note:
1. The chimney and cab detailing parts are a very tight fit so their locating holes and or spiggots will need some cleaning up with a scalple or file (I have found the amount of cleaning up varies considerably from print to print). I particularly recommend test fitting the chimney into the top of the boiler and pushing home before any other parts are fitted to the cab floor. Once the chimney fits remove and put aside for fitting after the roof.
2. The cab floor is raised approximately 5mm to clear the top of the KATO chassis. Consequently, if the customer wishes to add driver/fireman (not supplied) the corresponding amount will have to be removed from the crews legs!
