Product Description
This compact, portable organ was designed more than 500 years ago by Leonardo Da Vinci. The keyboard of the organ has been rotated 90 degrees, so it is vertical, like a modern piano accordion. The organ pipes fan out on top of the instrument and were probably made of wood or paper. Remarkably, the air pressure is provided by two bellows.
The design is an interpretation of a drawing by Leonardo Da Vinci. Since there is only a side view, there can be many different ways to make this instrument. At this moment there have been built 5 musical instruments based on this drawing. All with different design and different solutions. My father - the world famous instrument maker - Reijnier Kloeg is starting construction of his version this month, for updates on his work go to: https://sites.google.com/site/indenoudecrooncurck/nieuw-project-voor-2015-organetto-ontwerp-van-leonardo-da-vinci Being an experienced instrument builder of harpsichords, harps but also a barrel organ, this is definitely going to be an amazing build.
