Skull 6 Hollow 2

I am a traditional sculptor and this is one of the first models I have done using digital means. The anatomy is a hybrid between, dog, cat, and gorilla. I wanted to model a skull that looked like it had some biting power to it, hence the cranial ridge, large zygomatic arches, and slightly hooked jawbone. I did an initial print out using a Replicator 2 printer at my local university and although it came out looking pretty decent, it failed to capture the detail I aspire to achieve in my work. I ended up using the 3d printed model as a substructure and spent hours re-detailing and retexturing the whole surface by hand. With a Higher resolution printer like the Form1 I would be able to bypass the hours of reworking and allow me to push my designs to a new level.
